Chipsets Realme 12 Pro
The higher-end Realme 12 Pro+ is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. This makes sense as it will rival the recently announced Redmi Note 13 Pro which also has the same chipset.
The Redmi Note 13 series is launching on January 4th by the way. The regular Realme 12 Pro meanwhile might get the newer Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor.
Cameras Realme 12 Pro
Notable leakster Ishan Agarwal claims the Realme 12 series will retain the signature round camera module. It will likely house a dual camera setup along with a rectangular periscope lens.
The Pro+ variant could sport a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The 12 Pro model on the other hand may have a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom instead.
Launch Date Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+
While nothing is set in stone yet, the consensus seems to be a late January or early February release. The phones have already been spotted on certification sites like BIS and TDRA.
Realme also appears to be teasing these very phones on social media. So a launch in the next few weeks makes sense.
Design Realme 12 Pro+
We don’t have any concrete design leaks yet barring the circular camera bump. But we can expect an iterative update over the Realme 11 series. A punch-hole AMOLED display, glass back and slim profile is likely.
The 12 Pro+ being the higher-end variant will probably sport premium touches like a metal frame, frosted glass back etc. More details should surface as we inch closer to launch.
Variants RealMe 12 Pro+ Phone
Realme usually launches multiple storage and RAM variants for their number series. We can expect 6GB/8GB RAM options with 128GB/256GB storage on the 12 Pro models. A 12GB RAM edition is also possible for the Pro+ variant.
Colors could include muted tones like Gray, White along with bolder options like Blue, Green etc. The final specs will be revealed at launch. But expect plenty of options to choose from.
Features Realme 12 Pro+
Software will be RealmeUI 4.0 based on Android 13. The phone will likely retain the side mounted fingerprint scanner. Charging will hopefully be faster than the 33W on the Realme 11 Pro series.
IP68 water resistance would also be a nice addition. And the latest connectivity options like 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 etc should be present as well.
Price
Pricing will be crucial for the Realme 12 Pro series. The 11 Pro models launched at a starting price of ₹17,999. We can expect a slight bump over this for the 12 Pro series.
The base 12 Pro could be priced from ₹18,999. While the top-end 12 Pro+ with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage may go up to ₹25,999. This should make them competitive against rivals like Redmi, Moto and others.
Conclusion – Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+
The Realme 12 Pro series is shaping up to be an exciting release in the mid-range segment. A powerful new Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, versatile cameras with telephoto lenses and trendy design makes it promising.
With launch expected very soon, all eyes are now on the pricing. Realme needs to get it right to take on Xiaomi, Motorola and others in this competitive space. But the brand does have expertise in the mid range category.
The Realme 12 Pro series looks well equipped to continue their momentum. Stay tuned to our blog for more updates.
