Motorola is gearing up to expand its Edge smartphone series in India with the launch of two new devices – the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. The launch event is expected to take place in early April, although an exact date has not been confirmed yet.
The Edge 50 Pro was already released globally last year, but it is now making its way to India. On the other hand, the Edge 50 Fusion will be an all-new phone tailored for the Indian market. Both devices will feature premium specs and the latest hardware at aggressive price points to take on Chinese rivals like Xiaomi and Realme.

Edge 50 Pro – Top-of-the-Line Performance
As the name suggests, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will be the highest-end model in the new Edge 50 lineup. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which delivers super performance for Android smartphones in 2024.
This lightning-fast processor is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is expected to handle intensive tasks like gaming, multi-tasking and content creation without breaking a sweat.
The Edge 50 Pro also features a gorgeous 6.7-inch pOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a swift 144Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR10+ and has a peak brightness of 1000 nits for excellent visibility even under harsh sunlight.
Immersive Visuals with Advanced Camera Hardware
The Edge 50 Pro equips a triple camera setup headlined by a massive 200MP sensor. This extremely high resolution gives users greater flexibility to crop and digitally zoom into photos without losing detail.
The main camera is assisted by a 50MP ultrawide angle lens and a depth sensor. There is also a hefty 4500mAh battery under the hood, which draws power rapidly through 68W fast charging.
Edge 50 Fusion – Excellent Value Flagship
Joining the Pro model is the more affordable Edge 50 Fusion. Despite the lower price tag, the Fusion still packs some serious firepower. Leaked images reveal a design similar to the Pro version with rounded corners and narrow bezels.
Rumored specs include the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage as well as a 6.7-inch pOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution. There is also a capable triple camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor, 13MP ultrawide lens and depth camera.
The Edge 50 Fusion is expected to deliver faster performance and better graphics compared to last year’s Edge 40 Fusion. Battery capacity comes in at 5000mAh, which should easily last over a day of use. 68W fast charging ensures you can quickly top up when running low.
Pricing and Availability
Motorola has not shared exact pricing information yet, but rumors estimate the Edge 50 Fusion will cost around Rs 25,000 in India. The higher-end Edge 50 Pro should be available for under Rs 45,000.
These prices would make both phones excellent value-for-money flagships compared to rivals. Motorola is targeting younger Indian consumers who want powerful specs and good looks without much cost.
If the pricing speculation holds true, the Edge 50 series will become a force to reckon with in India’s fiercely competitive smartphone space. The series faces still competition from popular phones like the Xiaomi 12 Pro, Realme GT 2 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro and more. But Motorola focus on balancing premium hardware and aggressive pricing.
We expect to learn complete details at the India launch event in early April 2024. Both the Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion will likely go on sale shortly after through leading online and offline retailers.
