Indian smartphone lovers have something exciting to look forward to this April as homegrown phone maker Infinix prepares to launch its highly anticipated Note 40 Pro 5G lineup in the country. This comes right on the heels of the company’s recent global launching of the Note 40 Pro+ 5G and Note 40 Pro 5G handsets last month.
While an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, Infinix has dropped a teaser hinting at an April debut. Moreover, reports indicate the Note 40 Pro+ 5G has already received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), signaling an imminent launch.
Pricing Hints at Competitive India Prices
Infinix hasn’t divulged India pricing details, but the global pricing of the Note 40 Pro 5G series gives us a fair idea of what to expect. The Note 40 Pro+ 5G starts at $309 (approx. Rs. 25,000) globally, while the Note 40 Pro 5G carries a starting price tag of $289 (approx. Rs. 24,000). If Infinix manages to price them along similar lines in India, these phones could end up being a competitive option in the hotly contested sub-Rs. 25,000 segment.
Flagship-Level Display and Cameras
At the core of the Note 40 Pro 5G duo is a 6.78-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a silky smooth 120Hz refresh rate, which should enable super fluid scrolling and graphics. Powering the phone is MediaTek’s new 6nm Dimensity 7020 octa-core chip, which delivers better power efficiency over its predecessor. The software side is covered by XOS 14 based on the latest Android 14.
But it’s perhaps the photography hardware that truly stands out. Both models feature a versatile triple camera setup, headlined by a massive 108MP sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 3x lossless zoom. This is paired with a 2MP depth and 2MP macro camera for portraits and closeups. Selfie duties are handled by a 32MP front camera.
Large Batteries and Blazing Fast Charging
Infinix has equipped both Note 40 Pro 5G models with large batteries—5,000mAh on the standard Note 40 Pro 5G and 4,600mAh on the higher-end Note 40 Pro+ 5G. This should comfortably last over a day of use.

Where the Note 40 Pro+ 5G pulls ahead is the charging tech. It supports a blistering 100W wired charging that can fully juice up its 4,600mAh battery from 0-100% in just 34 minutes. The Note 40 Pro 5G isn’t far behind either with 45W wired charging capabilities. Both models also support 20W wireless charging via Infinix’s MagCharge tech.
Proprietary Chip Could Give Note 40 Pro+ 5G The Edge
The Note 40 Pro+ 5G features Infinix’s proprietary Cheetah X1 chip for enhanced gaming and multimedia performance. Combined with the 100W charging, this gives the Note 40 Pro+ 5G a slight edge in theory. But we’ll have to test both models head-to-head to see which one comes out on top.
Nonetheless the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G lineup seems extremely well equipped to take on Xiaomi, Realme and other rivals in the hotly contested sub-Rs. 25,000 segment when it launches in India this April. With class-leading displays, cameras, charging tech and MediaTek’s efficient Dimensity chip, these devices check a lot of the right boxes on paper. Now it remains to be seen if Infinix can price them aggressively and back it up with equally competitive performance.
